Aaron F. Fortna died at his home in New Franklin yesterday morning at 1:20 o'clock of neuralgia of the heart after an illness of a few hours, aged 63 years, 1 month and 13 days.

He is survived by his wife and the following daughters: Mrs. Maggie E. Stitely of New Franklin and Mrs. Annie Carbaugh of Duffield. He was a member of the Grindstone Hill Lutheran Church.

Funeral Saturday, leaving the house at 1 o'clock. Services at Grindstone Hill; internment at Quincy. Friends and relatives are invited without further notice.

1880 Census he was living with Aaron Small working as Laboreer, Dist. #1, Quincy, Franklin Co., PA.

His father was William Henry Fortney born 23 Jan 1818 and died 24 Feb 1901 Quincy, Franklin Co., PA. He was a 'Laborer' from 1850 - 1900. 1900 he was living with his son Daniel Peter. In 1880 he had 3 granchildren:
William Fortney 9 yrs; George Fortney 8 yrs; Annie May Fortney 6 yrs all born in Pennsylvania.

William Henry and Lucinda Burkholder Fortney were married 6 Dec 1838 in Quincy, Franklin Co., PA. To this Union 15 children were born:
