She attended school in Butternut. She was married to Walter Abraham on December 23, 1941, in Butternut. He preceded her in death. She and her husband made their home in Price County after their marriage. She was employed by the Phillips School District, and the Cozy Town Café in Fifield.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Phillips. In her free time she enjoyed playing card, knitting, word search puzzles, old western movies and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her nine children: Shirley Bortz, Malta, MT, Raymond (Marilynn) Abraham, Phillips, Josephine "Jo" (Fred, Jr.) Tom, Oxford, WI, Jean Abraham (special friend Don Tom), Milwaukee, Phyllis Fusak, Phillips, Roger (Evelyn) Abraham, Park Falls, Nina Sulsdorf, Portage, Karen Abraham (special friend Raymond Wiedmeyer), St. Paul, MN, and Christine (Mark) Kempen, Catawba; by 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great- great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter; by two grandchildren: Leonard Langner and Peter Kempen; by four brothers; four sisters; and three sons-in-law: John Fusak, Merle Sulsdorf and Harold Bortz.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Phillips, with Pastor John Trewyn officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at the Butternut Union Cemetery, Butternut with Pastor John Dietz officiating.
