John Fredrick Linsmeyer age 93, of Butternut, died on Tuesday October 25, 2016 at Park Manor Nursing Home. He was born on December 14, 1922 in Butternut, the son of Fredrick and Minnie (Christian) Linsmeyer. His early life and schooling were in Butternut. He attended Agricultural and Auto Mechanics school and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII in Manila, Philippines. On June 6, 1945 he married Gertrude Scherwinski. Gertrude preceded him in death in 1993. On June 11, 1994 he married Marion Keily, who preceded him in death in 2011. John was logger, dairy farmer, worked for Hick's Sawmill, the Butternut Feed Store, as an excavator, and for Anets Manufacturing. He was also a member of the Butternut American Legion Post.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Gertrude, his second wife Marion, his son Dale, his step son: Larry Keily, his step-daughter Kathy Wagner, his grandson Timothy, his granddaughter Angelica Grace, his sister Gertrude Dul, and his brother Robert.
