Mr. Perry Lee Tuner, Jr., 80, of Lexington passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Turner was born in Alhambra, CA on February 5, 1934 to Perry Lee Turner, Sr. and Catherine Jean Frye Turner. In 1953, he married Phyllis Hemric Turner, who he was happily married to for almost 61 years. He graduated from Mineral Springs High School and later worked as a supervisor for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, retiring after working 33 1/3 years. Mr. Turner was a former member of the Piedmont Boat Club, a founding member of the Davidson County Horseman's Association, and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Turner is survived by his loving wife; three children, Vickie Davis and husband Randy, Lynn Peterson and husband Wayne, and Kevin Turner; a brother, Richard Turner; six grandchildren, Jenny Pearson and husband James, Sara Davis, Carl Davis and wife Beth, Rebecca Warren and husband Travis, Joshua Peterson, and Courtney Turner; and four great-grandchildren, Kylee Peterson, Reese Davis, Hadley Davis, and Davis Warren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.
