Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2007 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, for Rita Noel, age 77, the former Rita Lavergne, who passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff DeBlanc, pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate at the services.
Ms. Noel was a native of Lawtell and a resident of Carencro for twelve years. She was a parishioner of St. Peters Catholic Church.

Survivors include one son, Michael G. Noel of Kaplan; three daughters, Barbara Falcon and her husband Alvin of Rayne, Mary Beth Dupuis and her husband Aaron of Carencro, and Debbie Viator and her husband Brian of Carencro; sixteen grandcildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Lavergne and his wife Rose of Lake Charles, and Herbert Lavergne and is wife Tootsie of Lawtell; and one sister, Betty Fisher and her husband Gene of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Ann Higginbotham; her parents, Ivy Lavergne and mother, the former Rita Hollier; her former husband, Harold Noel; and five brothers, Raphael Lavergne, Grady Lavergne, Anthony Lavergne, Edward Lavergne, and Charles Lavergne.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Al Falcon Jr., Blaine Viator, Cody Dupuis, Jonathon Dupuis, Scotty Mire, and Chase Simon.
