NEWINGTON, Molly Jeanne

Born March 20, 1922 in Ogden, Utah and passed away in Sacramento on March 17, 2014. After graduating from high school in Ogden, Molly attended the University of Utah prior to serving as an officer in the Navy from 1942-1945. In 1946, she married David C. Newington and over a 22 year marriage bore 4 children. Molly worked for several years as an Executive Secretary for a number of California Senators and Assemblymen. In 1970, she received an appointment to Washington D.C. to serve in the executive branch of the Federal Housing and Urban Development Department. She later relocated to Kansas City and retired from HUD in 1988. After retirement, she returned to Sacramento and kept active in the LDS church, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her four children, Michael (Betsy), Gregory, Dirk, and Kelly Newington. She is also the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

The family appreciates the love and support Molly was given over the last few years by her caregiver, Pollyana Tupou; good friend, Venice Perkins; and former daughter-in-law, Laurie Lyons. At her request, no formal funeral service will be held; a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
