Affectionately known by his friends as 'Mac' and 'Papa' by his grandchildren departed this life on March 13, 2014 at home surrounded in love by his family.
He was born in Canton Ohio, on October 17, 1955 to the late Calvin and Donna Mae McElroy. Jerry grew up in Beaver Falls, PA. He graduated in 1973 where he then joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Sacramento, CA He served in the USAF from 1973-1981. He was a resident of California for 40 years.
Jerry is survived by his two daughters Kimberly McElroy-Davis, and Jerri McElroy-Cornethan, both of Sacramento, CA, five grandchildren Eric McElroy-Zigler, Kijana Zigler, Sidney Davis, Jerrin Cornethan, Jayce Cornethan, one brother Willie McElroy of Canton, OH, and sister Paulette Pugh of Beaver Falls, PA. Viewing Thursday March 27 from 9am-10am with services at 10am at Mount Vernon, 8201 Greenback Ln, Fair Oaks, CA.
