Marcella "Sally" Baerg, 73, of Mountain Lake, June 12, 1932 - December 06, 2005

Marcella Luella "Sally" Heinrichs, the daughter of Jacob and Marie (Peters) Heinrichs was born on June 12, 1932, at the Bethel Hospital in Mountain Lake, MN. She was raised three miles north of Butterfield, MN, where she attended District 53 country school. She also attended the Butterfield Public School. On June 2, 1952, Sally was baptized upon confession of her faith at the Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN. She worked at Butterfield Foods in Butterfield for seven years. On September26, 1952, Sally was united in marriage to Edward Baerg at Bethel Mennonite Church. They made their home seven miles north of Bingham Lake, MN, until January of 2004 when they moved in to Mountain Lake. She was a housewife, farm helper and mother of three. Sally was a babysitter for some of her grandchildren, helped in the fields in the fall, and helped with the dairy. She was a good cook, making twiback and verenica, where were asked for at every family gathering. She helped with the borscht supper atthe Mountain Lake Christian School for many years. Sally was a life-long member of Bethel Mennonite Church, where she served on the Relief Committee, Refreshment Committee, and in the Mission Society.

Sally Baerg died on Tuesday morning, December 6, 2005, at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom, MN.

Sally is survived by her husband, Edward Baerg of Mountain Lake, MN; two sons, James and his wife Beckie Baerg of Bingham Lake, MN, and Leroy and his wife Deb Baerg of Windom, MN; a son-in-law, Harold and his wife Lillian Dick of Mountain Lake, MN; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Leo and his wife Rosie Heinrichs of St. James, MN; a brother-in-law, Clarence Baerg of Mountain Lake, MN; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, MaryLou Dick; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Heinrichs) Baerg.
