Kenneth W. Taylor grew up in the Hampden area of Baltimore City. He joined the Army Air Corps during WW II. He married Doris Blanche Hall in 1949 and they had five children: Angela Lynn (born 1950), Patricia Carol (born 1951), Kenneth Russell (born 1955), Dwight David (born 1960) and Philip Joel (born 1967). He was an electronics technician for the Martin Company, including a stint at Cape Canaveral, Florida during the inception of the missile program, and later worked for the O'Toole Company of Baltimore. He was a union officer while at the Martin Company, was active in his church in leadership positions, and was an avid reader. He died of complications after surgery at Franklin Square Hospital.
