Marie Teresa Cox, 95, entered eternal rest peacefully March 17, 2014, in Del Rio, Texas. She was born May 19, 1918, in Dickinson, Texas. She is survived by daughter: Andrea Cox of Spring, Texas; son: Leonard E. Cox of Houston, Texas; twin sister: Minnie McCoy of Houston, Texas; daughter in-law: Judy L. Cox; grandchildren: Tracy, Travis, Whitney and Tiffany Cox; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband G. W. Cox, son: George W. Cox Jr., sisters: Rosa Yedel, Carmela Moller, Lucy Cryer and brother in-law: Thomas McCoy. Marie met and married G. W and moved to Del Rio, Texas in 1945, where she lived for 69 years an active member in Del Rio community. During this time she stayed busy raising their three children: Andrea, George William Jr., and Leonard E. ; A fourth child, Georganna died in 1959. For years, she worked at the Del Rio National Bank; then the Del Rio Bank & Trust for 13 years; and still another 13 years in the County Clerk's office. When she retired from the County Clerk's office Marie went on to do full-time volunteer work. She divided her time between Val Verde Memorial Hospital, Retama Manor Nursing Home and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic daughters of the America, Court St. Joan of Arc #1224 and AARP. Visitations will be held on Thursday, 6-9:00P.M, March 27, 2014 with Deacon David Scarbo leading the Rosary at 7:00P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic church on Friday, 11:00A.M, March 28, 2014 officiated by Father Jim Fischler and followed with interment a Sacred Heart Cemetery.
