Henry LILLIGH, farmer, P. O. Woburn, is the second son of Jacob Lilligh. Henry was born May 1, 1849, and emigrated to this county with the family in 1865. In 1872, he married Harriet Morey, daughter of Hiram Morey, one of the old-time settlers in this county.

After his marriage, he located in Mulberry Grove, where he engaged in the mercantile business, where he continued until 1875, when he located on the farm he now owns. He is an excellent farmer, and has been successful. He has 280 acres of land, forty of which is timber. His farm is well improved, and is very productive. He is a member of German Baptist Church, and has recently been promoted to the rank of minister in his church.

He has four children - Ida Marian, Mary Louisa, Emmet Wilburn and Edward Earl (History of Bond and Montgomery Counties Illinois 1882).

1940: Henry and Harriet are residing in Ft. Wayne, Allen Co., IN with son-in-law and daughter, John and Mary L. (Lilligh) Cornish.

Henry Lilligh, Former Decatur Resident, Dies

Henry Lilligh, 91, a resident of Decatur [IL] for 20 years, died early Tuesday at his home in Fort Wayne, Ind., after a long illness, according to word received in Decatur by relatives.

Mr. Lilligh, an elder in the Church of the Brethren, was born in Clarion county Pennsylvania, May 1, 1849. He married Harriet Morey March 17, 1873, in Mulberry Grove, Ill. In 1919 he moved from Mulberry Grove to Decatur and lived in the 1300 block North Monroe street. He was a retired farmer and Mulberry Grove Merchant.

He leaves his wife, two daughters, Mrs. A.C. Kessler, Mt. Morris, IL and Mrs. Mary Cornish, Fort Wayne: two sons, E.E. and William H. Lilligh, both of Southgate, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Floans(sic) funeral home, Fort Wayne, with burial in Fort Wayne.
