Jason Gregory Ellis, 18, of Bedford, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005.

Jason was born April 21, 1987, in Lexington, NC, a son of Judy Staton Ellis of Bedford and the late Gregory Ellis. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Kristina.

He was a senior at Jefferson Forest High School where, on his wrestling team, he placed 6th overall in Virginia in the 145 lb. weight class and was a two-time Charlotte Court House Champion. He was an active member of the Brookhill Wesleyan Church youth group and loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He will always be remembered for his adventurous spirit.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Ryan and Brandon Ellis, of Lynchburg; his maternal grandparents, Dorothy and James McFaden, of Newport News; his paternal grandparents, Mary and Jerry Ellis, of Lexington, NC; his paternal uncle, Geoff Ellis, and wife, Brenda, of Lexington, NC; his maternal aunts and uncles and their spouses, Kathy, Janice, Jennifer, Ted, and Danny; his girlfriend, Josie Busch, of Forest; his extended family, Sharon and Gene Amstutz and their sons, Aaron and Andrew; as well as numerous cousins and countless friends who will greatly miss him.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the gym of Jefferson Forest High School. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 17, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
