The daughter of Delbert "Dale" McCoy and Mary Elizabeth Singleton, Lori was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton, Madison County, Illinois. She graduated from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, Jersey County, Illinois as a member of the Class of 1980.

She married (Living) Crowe on 12 Nov 1983 at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville. They were the parents of 5 children.

Lori worked for the State of Illinois. She was the kitchen supervisor at the Pere Marquette Park Youth Center.

Lori passed away at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri following a very brief battle with cancer. At the time of her death, she was 48 years, 7 months and 12 days old.

She was survived by her husband; 5 daughters, who were described as "the pride and joy of her life"; 1 step-son; 2 grandsons; 2 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law; 1 step-brother and his wife; her mother-in-law; her husband's sister and her fiance; and many extended family members.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Dale McCoy; 1 sister, Debra McCoy, who died on 23 Dec 2009; and her step-father, Raymond Eugene "Gene" Ready.

Visitation was held on 24 Nov 2010 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services for the family were private.
