William Henry Fissel, 67, of 104 Third St., Hanover, husband of Mrs. Mary Fleming Fissel, died unexpectedly Friday morning at 9:20 o'clock at his home. Death was due to coronary occlusion.
Retired after 34 years employment at the Hanover Cabinet Company, Mr. Fissel had worked as a janitor at the Hanover Y.W.C.A. for the past two weeks.
He was a son of the late Raphael and Anna Kennel Fissel and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and Hanover Lodge 227, L.O.O.M. He was a native and for many years a resident of Gettysburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife are eight children, Mrs. Austin Garrett, Mrs. William Black, both of Hanover; Mrs. Leonard Lau and Richard E. Fissell at home; Mrs. Charles Garrett and William Fissel Jr., Hanover; Mrs. Donald Becker, Hanover, and Mrs. Henry Stremmel, Hanover; eleven grandchildren and a brother and two sisters, Samuel Fissel, Mrs. Mary Cassett and Mrs. Russell Coulson, all of Gettysburg.
The Rev. Dr. Henry Hursh Beidleman, his pastor, will conduct funeral services Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dennis Wetzel Funeral Home, Hanover. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
