Mark A. Hanley, age 74 of Mexico, died at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Audrain Medical Center. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Brendan Catholic Church. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church.

Mr. Hanley was born Feb. 17, 1928 in Gary, Ind., the son of Mark R. and Mary G. (deMacedo) Hanley. He married Erna Gertrude Busse on Sept. 23, 1948 in Germany. She preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 1992.

He was a retired deputy sheriff and served in the Army Air Corp 1946-1948. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Pat Hanley, Mexico, and Bill Hanley, Lees Summit; one daughter, Erna Emerick, O'Fallon; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Hanley, St. Louis; and one sister, Peggy Schlobohm, Goshen, Ind.

Memorials are suggested to D.A.R.E., 1100 Littleby Rd. Mexico, MO 65265. Arnold Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
