US Congressman, Connecticut Governor. Elected to represent Connecticut's 6th District and as At-Large in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1800 to 1806. He also served as a Member of the Connecticut State Legislature, Superior Court Judge in Connecticut from 1809 to 1811, Deputy Governor of Connecticut from 1811 to 1813, Governor of Connecticut from 1812 to 1817, and a State Court Judge in Connecticut.
