Mary Cornelia Winter, 98, of Holly Springs, died March 7, 2005 at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. She was the widow of Thomas Oren Winter and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a substitute teacher in Marshall County for many years.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 10 at First Baptist Church in Holly Springs, where she was a lifelong member. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs. Dr. Curtis Ferrell officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a son, Larry Winter of Monroe, La.; a daughter, Faith Winter Macon of Austin, Tx.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Quitman Winter, Wilva Edwards, Don Edwards, Butch Crowson, Tommy Winter, Lesley White, Dianne Fitzpatrick, Jim Fitzpatrick, Randall Macon, Veronica Macon. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Johnson, Lesley Tomlinson Jr., Garrie Colhoun, Dr. J.A. Hale, John Forester Jr., Greg Gresham, Harry Smith Jr.
