Services for Mrs. Ethel Monroe Austin, 68, Los Angeles, formerly of Forest, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Sweet Union Baptist Church in Forest with the Rev. Donald Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Sweet Union Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Austin died Friday at her residence in Los Angeles after a lengthy illness. She was born January 19, 1920, in Alto. She was raised in Sweet Union, Forest community and attended church and schools. She lived in Dallas 44 years and was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church in Dallas.
Survivors include 4 sisters, Mrs. Albradie B. Dearman of Rusk, and Mrs. Anna Ray Tarver, Mrs. Berdie B. Jones and Mrs. Clarice Monroe, all of Dallas; brother, Ruben Monroe of Rusk; step-daughter, Mrs. Virginia Salvage of Dallas; aunt, Mrs. Pearlie Taylor of Houston; 3 grandchildren.
