DECATUR - James Martin Parker, 56, of Decatur passed away Monday March 15, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Memorial service will be 7:00 PM Friday March 19, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood St. Funeral Home with visitation from 6:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded per James's wishes. James was born on November 14, 1953 in Decatur the son of James William and June Eaton Parker. He was retired from the Decatur Park District. James was a wonderful father, grandfather and was a very creative person. He loved nature, plants, flowers, gardening and was a very good woodworker. He is survived by his partner Justin Brown of Decatur; daughter: Jessica Goodwin and husband David of Decatur; mother: June Parker of Decatur and sister: Deborah Tamimie and husband Harith of Urbana and one grandchild Jayden. A special "thank you" to Ann and Tonya from ICU at Decatur Memorial Hospital. James was preceded in death by his father and one sister Carla Ward. Obituary written by family members.
