Dovie Trotter, 97, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Poteau. Dovie was born January 29, 1917 in Page, OK to John & Martha (Satterfield) Staton. She was a homemaker. Dovie was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Manual King (killed in action in WWII) & Alfred Cameron Trotter; son, Alfred; brothers, Rufus & Bill Staton; sisters, Emma Simpson, Frances Higgins, Ruby Caldwell, Eveline King , Arizona Staton.
Survivors include her daughters & sons in law, Isabell & Ed Creech, Iloa & Ron Winters, Carol & Don Dickson, Helen & John Merritt; sons & daughters in law, Bob & Jeanette Trotter, Bill & Pat Trotter; a number of Grand & Great & Great Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
Services - 2 pm, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Amber Kirkendoll officiating. Burial will be in Stapp Zoe Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
