Madison Grace Riley, 5, passed away Tue, Oct 22, 2013, at UAB Children's Hospital surrounded by her family that watched her peacefully enter her eternal home. Madison was born Nov 16, 2007, with a rare genetic disorder called mucolipidosis II. Although this disease brought many physical limitations, nothing could diminish her sweet, joyful spirit. Her hearty laugh and cheerful disposition were infectious and even her "serious look" brought smiles to all. Madison was most happy singing praises to Jesus, and our hearts rejoice that today she worships at His feet.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Harold Riley; maternal grandfather, Richard Holley; and maternal great-grandmother, Faye Roney Ethridge.
Madison leaves behind her parents, Shane and April Riley; her paternal grandmother, Charlotte Riley; her maternal grandmother, Ronda Holley; her aunts and uncles, Ernie and Shannon Locke, Scarlett Riley, Paul and Amy Cristina; cousins, Ashley Sweatt, Anthony Brunelle, Victoria, Ryan and Cody Glover, Aubrey and Noelle Cristina; and her dog, Bo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm today at Hiland Park Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Kyle officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
