Mr. Lawrence Obra Sims, 84, of Como, TN, formerly of Selmer, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Paris Health Care Nursing & Rehab Center in Paris, TN. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at 3:00 PM at Lake Hill Memory Gardens in Bethel Springs, TN. Visitation will be Friday, March 21 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again Saturday from 9:00 until service time at 11:00.

Mr. Sims was born December 17,1929 in Selmer, TN to the late Lonnie J. and Minnie McCormick Sims. He was an appliance salesman, electrician and farmer. Mr. Sims was a member of McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former member of the TN Army National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Etta Sims Johnson and a great grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Mitchell Sims, of Como, TN; two sons, Edward (Beverly) Sims of Kenton, TN and Darryl (Janice) Sims of Como; two brothers, Bobby (Geraldine) Sims of Selmer, TN and E.G. (Joy) Sims of Clarksville, TN; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and special son-in-law, Jerry Johnson of Henderson, TN.
