Leslie was the second son of Timothy G. and Malvina Peevy Brown, one of a family of nine children. On January 28, 1880 he married Miss Esther Cordelia Healy. For more than thirty years he conducted the Otselic Valley Meat Market in the Perkins Block, retiring in 1922.
