DEATH OF MRS. BOLLES.
Mrs. Elizabeth Coit Bolles died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Jno. H. Paty, yesterday afternoon after a brief illness.

Mrs. Bolles was born in New London, Connecticut, on the 4th of April, 1819. She married Benjamin F. Bolles in 1838 and joined her husband at Lahaina, where he was established, in 1845. She remained at the Islands until 1852, in which year she returned with one child to the States in the ship Sovereign of the Seas. After an absence of five years she returned to the Islands in the ship Anglo Saxon, Captain Caverly, in 1857, remaining here continuously until her death. Her husband died in 1884, since which event she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Paty.

The deceased was the mother of six children, four of whom, Mrs. Charles Hustace, of Honolulu, Mrs. D. F. Loveland, of Seattle, Mrs. J. H. Paty and Miss Lilian Bolles, of Honolulu, are still living. The other two were Mrs. John Caverley and B. F. Bolles, Jr. One sister, Mrs. James Avery, of New London, Conn., and one brother, Mr. E. Colt, also survive her. She also leaves nineteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bolles had been enjoying very fair health until last Wednesday, when she was taken with the grippe. She was attended by Drs. Baldwin and Day, and everything was done which medical skill could suggest, unavailingly. From 2 o'clock Sunday morning she was unconscious, and at 3 in the afternoon she passed away.

The funeral will take place this afternoon from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. John H. Paty, and friends and relatives are invited to attend. (Honolulu Advertiser, Mon. 04 Apr 1892, p. 2)
