Frank was the brother of Ernie and Mary Lou Ansley. He was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Forces in WWII. The United States Army Air Forces (USAAF or AAF) was the military aviation service of the United States of America during and immediately after World War II, and the direct predecessor of the United States Air Force.

Frank was awarded a Purple Heart and was a POW.

Cause: Friendly fire, killed by Japanese guards or drowning.
