Removed from Shutesbury to Sunderland, probably after 1777; was soldier in last French and Indian War, 1759; Capt. in Revolutionary War; a man of standing and influence. He was a delegate to the Mass. Convention called in 1788 to consider the new federal constitution and in common with a large minority of the delegates, voted against it's ratification.
