Merna worked as a clerical assistant for the State of California. She was a member of the Calvary Church and sang in the church choir.
Merna is survived by her cat, Ebony, daughters Rebecca Sanders, Kathy Burton, son William Burton, sister Karen Helms, brother Chuck Helms, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Thomas Burton.
Services will be held at Draper Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Interment will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park.
