Lester Vernon Hill, 86, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Farley Street Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Dallas- Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2014, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Lester was born in Joshua, Texas, to the late Walter and Maggie Mae Davis Hill. Lester served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the military, he was employed for many years in the automotive industry and later owned and operated Hill Auto Parts in Dallas. Lester retired many years ago due to health problems. He was a member of the Farley Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Wayland Hill, Dennis Hill, and Herman Hill; and sister, Inez Shiflet.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Maudine Hill; sons, Jerry and David Hill; grandchildren, Anthony and Laurie Hill, Jason and Lacey Hill, Brandi and Beau Williams, Wendi and Owen Pontley, Jennifer and Joe Adamson, and Michelle Hinkle; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
