HELPER- Mary June Jensen Pessetto, 74, a long-time Carbon County resident, died peacefully at her home in Helper on November 10, 2013. She was born on August 13, 1939 in Hiawatha to Oliver C. and Mary Ann Riley Jensen. Growing up in Spring Glen, she attended Spring Glen Elementary, Helper Junior High, and Carbon High School. After graduating from Carbon High School in 1957, she moved to Salt Lake City where she attended cosmetology school. She worked as a hair stylist in Spring Glen until her marriage to Clifford Pessetto. They lived in Salt Lake City and Granger for several years before returning to Helper. After returning to Helper, she worked as a waitress, a seamstress at Koret of California and continued to work as a hair stylist in her home.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. For most of her life she cared for older relatives. She was a supportive, giving individual who was devoted to her family and friends. Many years after her own children left home, she found pleasure in mentoring a teenager who lived next door. In her later years, she especially enjoyed her weekly lunches out with old friends from her elementary and high school years. She was a wild ass in her younger days and wouldn’t move her ass in her older years, especially while playing her computer slot machine games.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Clifford; her children, Tamyra Warmack (William) of Thornton, Colorado, Nicole Pessetto (Gary) of Sandy, Roger Pessetto of Plano, Texas, and Lisa Gragg (Damon) of Livermore, California; her mother, Mary Jensen of Helper; and her siblings Richard (Carol) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Helen Runolfson (Al) of American Fork, and James (Janet) of Bel Air, Maryland; and seven grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother John Jensen (Dianne) of Wellington.

Funeral service Friday, November 15, 2013, 12:00 noon, at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday one hour prior to services. Entombment will follow directly after at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends may share memories of June at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
