CHARLES T. KIERNAN

Charles T. Kiernan, age 78, of 15826 County Highway XX, Kiel, died
Wednesdaymorning, August 19, 1998, at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 1998, at Zion
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners. Officiating will be Rev. Ted
Olsen, with burial in St. Johns-St. James Cemetery, Reedsville.
He was born January 8, 1920, in Maple Grove, Wis., son of the late Luke and
Margaret Strak Kiernan. On June 21, 1941, he married Evelyn M. Luedtke
at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. She preceded him in death on
April 21, 1992. Until his retirement he farmed and also worked at Bahr
Construction. Charles enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and
great grandchildren, woodworking, hunting, antique collecting and restoring.
He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners.
Survivors include one son, Charles D. Kiernan, at home; two daughters,
Charlotte (Richard) Zahrobsky, Ada, Wis., Virginia (Jim) Hephner, Kiel; ten
grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren (sic); and one brother, Luke Kiernan, Reedsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; one son, Randolph; a son-in-law,
Ronald Broehm; two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel, from 4-9.,
and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
