Charles Lynn Meador
Charles (Tootie) Meador, 66, of Matador, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born in Matador on October 25, 1947.
Charles graduated from Matador High school, attended Clarendon College, and graduated from Texas State Technical College in Waco. He was a good athlete and participated in many sporting events and was honored by receiving the Dayton Graham Athletic Award. He was active in Boy Scouts and went to Canada on a canoeing trip. He coached Little League while living in White Deer.
Charles married Bonnie Booth of McLean and they moved to Waco to attend school.
Having a meat processing certification, he worked in several grocery stores as the market manager. His first love, however, was farming and ranching.
Survivors include his daughter, Lori Bichsel and husband Timmy of White Deer; and their four children; his mother, June Cunningham of Lubbock; his brother, Joey and wife Dynell of Archer City; and their four children; and nine grandchildren; and his sister, Tanya Rippetoe and husband David of Lubbock.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, James Meador; and a nephew, Marlin Meador.
A graveside service will be held at the East Mound Cemetery at Matador, on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.
