FREDRICK BRATZ (d. 1957)

Frederick W.J. Bratz, 77, of the Town of Cato, died unexpectedly early Monday morning at his home following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John and St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville, the Rev. John Wendland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Bratz was born March 1, 1879, in the Town of Rockland the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Bratz. On March 21, 1908, he married the former Mary Karow. The couple farmed in the Town of Cato and for 19 years he worked for the Frosch and Sons hardware and implement store at Grimms. Mrs. Bratz died six weeks ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Diederichs of Manitowoc; four sons, Emil of Valders, Otto and Robert of Manitowoc and Walter on the home farm; three brothers, August, Henry, and Adolph of Reedsville; two sisters, Mrs. Ernestina Threnson of Valders and Mrs. Minnie Reinke
of Rt. 2, Reedsville, and 17 grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Reedsville Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be moved to the church to lie in state until the time of service.
