Joseph D. Lester

MURRAY -- Joseph Duckworth Lester, 60, a farmer, died at his home, 583 West Fifty-third (5300) South Street, Sunday at 11:45 a.m. of lobar pneumonia.

Mr. Lester was born in Murray, July 5, 1882, son of Feargues and Sarah Jane Duckworth Lester. In 1906 he moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, but returned to Murray in 1919. He was a member of the Church, and from 1902 to 1904 filled a mission to the southern states. He also was a Sunday school teacher and member of the high priests' quorum of the Murray Second Ward. He was a member of Mahogany Camp, Woodmen of the World, at Murray.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lillie Lester; four sons, James D. Lester of Murray, Roy E. Lester, with the United States Navy in the Pacific; David Marion Lester, with the navy at Pensacola, Fla., and Joseph Huntsman Lester of South Jordan: a daughter, Mrs. Rayloa Abbot of West Jordan: a brother, David D. Lester of Murray, and nine grandchildren.
