Garnet B. Hammack, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Stephensport, Ky October 31, 1927 daughter of the late Minor and Tisha (Sego) Burns. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Dorothy Powers and Marie VanConey, brothers, Omer Bryant, Sidney Burns and Junior Burns.

She was a 1946 graduate of Cannelton High School. On February 21, 1948 Garnet married Edwin Hammack, who passed away in 1996. Garnet retired from General Electric, and enjoyed playing cards, dancing and camping with family and friends.

She is survived by daughters; Garnetta Hoehn (Pat), Jeffersonville and Lana Feltner (Dan), Derby; sons, Dan Hammack (Kathy), Tell City, Mike Hammack (Angela), Tell City and Jeff Hammack (Rhonda), Ashburn, VA; 13 grandchildren, Joel and Jeremy Aldridge, Danielle Naviaux, Bryce, Andy and Tyler Hammack, Kayci Macke, Blair and Jill Hammack, Myra Stumler, Jared Feltner, Shane and Brodie Alley and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CDT Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Lee Brown will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00 until 8:00 PM Friday and from 9:00 until 11:00 AM Saturday.
