She was born November 25, 1919, in Louisville, Mississippi, the daughter of Sanford "Sam" Freeman and Ella (Shoemaker) Taylor. Along with her parents, Mozelle was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Carter, Sr.
Mozelle was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She married William H. Carter, Sr. January 1, 1939, in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. Mozelle was very outgoing and never met a stranger.
Mozelle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Evelyn Jo Carter, of Harrison; her grandson, William Carter and his wife Rose, of Harrison; her great-granddaughter, Rebecca Hardesty and her husband Matt; her great-grandson, Ben Carter and his wife Maxine, of Harrison; two great-great-grandchildren, Malakli Hardesty and Delilah Hardest, both of Harrison; and
a host of friends.

Funeral service is 10:00 AM, Friday, March 21, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Enloe officiating.
Pallbearers are Delbert Seay, Sam Lowe, Randy Joe Burchfield, Jeff Whittman, Marty Etchison and Travis Turner.
Interment is in Maplewood Cemetery.
