Age 67 Years
Odell died of a heart ailment at his home in Durango, where he had recently moved. Before ill health forced his retirement, he had worked thirteen years in the Silverton area as a diamond driller. Born in Magazine, Arkansas, he and Mrs. Berth Clement were married in Reno, Nevada, in 1958. Both had been previously married.
The funeral was held at the United Church of Silverton, Rev. Glen Allen officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Jean Shearer and Mrs. Larry Roberts, accompanied by Mrs. Glen Allen, pianist. Pallbearers were Gerald Glanville, Frank Hitti, Henry Kolego, Lee Lopez, Richard Perino and Pat Willis.
Odell's survivors were his widow, Bertha, and children, Tom and Diane Enix of Durango, Mrs. Floyd Post of Caldwell, Idaho, Mrs. Rudy Strunk of Sunnyvale, California and Dale Green in Juneau, Alaska. Also his sisters, Mrs. Mae Harvey and Mrs. Allie Wilkinson in Santa Barbara, California, and Mrs. Roy Hayes of Elk City, Oklahoma, and his brother, Dale Green of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Also surviving were eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren."
