John Berger, 90, died at his home in Murray Saturday at 11:30 p.m. of causes incident to age. Mr. Berger was born in Switzerland September 27 1853, a son of Christian and Magdalena Berger.

He came to the United States with his family when he was still a young child and crossed the plains to Utah at the age of eight with the John D. Ross company. He had been prominent in Murray civic affairs and filled two terms in the Murray City Council. His wife, Maria Eddins Berger, died in 1937.

Surviving Mr. Berger are two daughters, Mrs. Maggie Riley and Mrs. Alice Glavas of Murray, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
