Victoria was the daughter of Riley and Florence (Brasher) Cooper.

She married Vernon O. Shields on 12 December 1936. They were both residents of Peach Orchard, Arkansas.

PARAGOULD -- Victoria Shields, 88, of Paragould, formerly of Peach Orchard, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, in Green Acres Nursing Home at Paragould.

Survivors include one daughter, Sonjia Cole of Paragould; one son, Danny Shields of Lafe; one grandson, Scotty Cole; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jessie Cooper of Seymour, Mo., and James Cooper of Tucson, Ariz.; and two sisters, Imogene Ragsdale and Ocie Coffel, both of Durango, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Shields, on Dec. 2, 1995; one sister, Beatrice Schimming; one brother, Lee Chester Cooper; and one granddaughter, Tammy Woods.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in Ermert Funeral Home at Corning. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
