Information from military records and the book "Cloud of Witnesses" by Herman Johnston:

By 12/1850 he had married Julia Ann Lawson. They were enumerated on the 1850 Census in the Five Mile Precinct, Perry County, AL (now part of Hale Co.).

5 ft. 11 1/2 in. tall, fair complexion, blue eyes and black hair.

He died of an illness contracted while serving in the Confederate forces and was sent home. However, he died just before reaching home or just after reaching home. His widow filed a death claim with the C.S. A. Treasury 2/10/1863.
