Retired from US Army as Sergeant First Class, serving from 3 Dec 1985 to 1 April 2004. Was a member of the 1st Armored Division - "Old Ironsides" as well as the 3rd Cavalry. He fought in the Persian Gulf War, Bosnia, Somalia and many other places.

He was an active member with several local groups related to NA (Narcotics Anonymous). Had a real passion for helping his fellow vets with job placement. Rob took being a avid sports fanatic to a whole new level quoting stats, names, dates, etc. without hesitation. He was a contributor to several online sports blogs.

Anyone that knew Rob would tell you how much he loved his dogs and freely took in stray animals, nursing them back to health. There was hardly anything he enjoyed more than meat, grilled onions, bacon and slather it all in butter with, of course, a bottomless pot of coffee. His passion for knowledge, the stars, planets and a gorgeous sunset never escaped him.

Rob was a big kid at times, telling jokes, dancing, acting goofy and he gave the best hugs. He did not have a large biological family, but the family he created through friends showed up at news of his passing. You are deeply missed dear friend! Thank you for the lives you touched and mark you've made on us.
