CALHOUN CITY – Rex Marshall, 64, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Oct. 23, 1938, in Calhoun County. He was branch manager of the Natchez Trace Electric Power Association in Calhoun City. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and former fire chief of the Calhoun City Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Toposhaw Hunting Club and the Jaycees.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City with the Rev. Jim Vance officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Calhoun City.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry Jones Marshall of Calhoun City; a daughter, Jena Collins of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, James Marshall of Calhoun City and Max Marshall of Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Colby Monaghan and Karlie Monaghan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Marshall and Oleta Vance Marshall.
Pallbearers will be Bill Watkins, Tommy Gordon, Edward Johnson, Robert Ira Davis, Chuck Howell and Jimmy Ball.
Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Toposhaw Hunting Club.
