He had worked for the Ogden City (Utah) Police Department from 1940 to 1953, and then for the Clark County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy in Las Vegas. He also worked as Federal Court Bailiff.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his widow of Las Vegas, one son, and two daughters, He was also survived by eight grandchildren, two brothers (Sam Olsen of Portland, Oregon, Floyd Olsen of Ogden, Utah, two sister, Vivian (Myron) Tracy and Jane (Mike) Larsen, both of Ogden, Utah, and his father of Ogden.
