Jack Arthur David was born to Louis Arthur
David and Annie M. David. He spent his youth in Madera as the son of a small grocery store owner. His mother died during childbirth and although he had older siblings, a significant part of his life was spent with his grandmother in Fresno. Jack was a bit of a hell raiser. He knew the police chief too well! He had so much fun in high school that he was a part of two consecutive graduating classes. After high school he enlisted in the Merchant Marines, and served in the Pacific through the end of World War II.

After the war, Jack returned to Madera and soon met Auburn Lane Meiring. They were married in 1947 and made their home in Madera. Following travel and business relocations, with family in tow, Jack and Auburn returned to a new home in Madera in 1986 and renewed old friendships.

His parents, his brother, Louis David, his sister, Ruby Ballard, and his wife, Auburn Lane David preceded Jack in death. He is survived by his two sons and their wives, Kerry and Wendy David and Jack and Cheryl David; his grandchildren, Kirk, Brian, Jeffrey, Allison and Nichole. He was the proud great grandfather of Bailey and Kirby.

Jack loved to dance, to laugh, to party and to eat. He loved having his family.
