2024: Note from the manager: Whereas this stone was near impossible to read when I initially found and photographed it in 2014, in the following years the Hampton Falls Cemeteries Trustees, have been undertaking gradual refurbishment of markers in several Town of Hampton Falls cemeteries and have refurbished it with remarkable results. The date of death now clearly reads either 1700 or, looking closer, there is a faded line which could make the "00" a "20". This 1720 death date concurs with the age of death on the stone as 85 years and with research done by NEHGS and mentioned in the bio for his father Roger Shaw. Find a Grave member M. Tucker has taken a wonderful photo of the newly refurbished stone.
The photo of the Baptism record shows no year but is described by the FG member as: "Joseph, son of Roger Shaw, christened 12 November 1635 in St. James' Church, Gawsworth, Cheshire, England."
