James B. Blalock, Jr. was born in Alabama in 1832. While still a small child the family migrated to Texas where his father fought at the Battle of San Jacinto for Texas independence. After his first wife passed away, James married the widow Rebecca Evelena (McBee) McKeller in 1875 in Lockhart, Texas. They moved to Callahan County, Texas by 1880 and on to Parker County, Texas where James passed away at about the time of the birth of his last child, Sidney Franklin Bla(y)lock, in 1883. His wife and children buried him in this cemetery in a grave that is marked by a unique stone that we have never identified.
