Mae Fern (Hillis) King, 87 of Benton, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. She was retired from TVA where she worked as an information clerk at the north entrance. Mrs. King was a member of the VFW Auxillary and was of the Baptist Faith.
Born Saturday, July 31, 1926 in Bisco, AR, she was the daughter of the late Freed Hillis and the late Lela (Lawrence) Hillis. She was the wife of the late Hyman King.
Surviving are her son by marriage, Steve King, wife Cindy of Gilbertsville, KY, daughter by marriage, Kathy Joyce of Jackson, TN, son Richard Roberts, wife Anna of Fayetteville, AR, daughter, Mary Sue Morris of Paducah, KY, brother: Ben Hillis of Atkins, AR; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Thomas H. Hillis.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025. Rev. Rex Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014.
