Christina died peacefully at her home in San Mateo Saturday morning the 15th. Born in Santander, Spain, she and her family came to the USA in 1931, settling in San Francisco in 1939. She graduated from Galileo High School and the California School of Fine Arts (now the San Francisco Art Institute). Married in 1951, she and her late husband, Faxon H. Bishop moved to San Mateo to raise their family.
She is survived by her sons, Faxon Bishop (Stephanie) of San Jose and Habib David Bishop of San Rafael. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Adam Bishop (Patricia) of San Jose and Kimberly Bishop of San Francisco, her nephew Paul Bishop (Julie) of Solana Beach and their children, Jeff, Erin, Greg, and Cathleen. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Faxon H. Bishop, her sister Connie Bishop and her parents, Manuel and Concepcion Ortega.
Chris will be greatly missed and remembered lovingly by her family and friends.
There will be a visitation from 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, March 20 at Sneider, Sullivan & O'Connell's Funeral Home, San Mateo. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 21 at 10 AM at St. Catherine's Church in Burlingame followed by a reception in celebration of Chris' life. Later internment at Holy Cross will be family only.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Assistance League of San Mateo and Sutter Care at Home Hospice.
