Claude "Pete" David Walters, age 79 of Laurel Hill passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014.
Claude was born October 16, 1934 in Robeson County, son of the late Marley Walters and Treva Barnes Walters. He was the loving husband to the late Mildred Z. Mowen Watlers. He was a retired textile worker from Fieldcrest Mills. Pete attended Peele's Chapel Wesleyan Church and enjoyed NASCAR Racing.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jo Winter; brothers, Percy Walters, Robert M. Walters, Robert L. Walters and William Earl Walters.
He is survived by his children, sons, Gary Walters of Laurel Hill, Claude Walters, Jr., South Mountain, PA; a daughter, Helen L. Gordon of Fayetteville, PA; brothers, Tommy Walters of Laurel Hill, Billy Joe Walters of Bladenboro, Harold Walters of Rowland; sisters, Maitland Walters McNeill of Maxton, Ruby Walters Graham of Rowland; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. J.W. Williams. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
An interment service will be at a later date in the Ashpole Cemetery.
