She married Joseph Brady Brewen on July 3, 1942 and was widowed on May 3, 1963 with five children to raise.
With the help of God, she said, she was able to support and raise her kids and make sure they all received a college education. She was the center of her family and absolutely believed in her children.
In 1965, Aline moved to Columbia from Marble Hill where she was a stay-at-home mom and worked 27 years in Food Service at the University of Missouri during spring and fall semesters and each summer in Lander, WY as a cook for the MU Geology Field School.
Aline is known for all the clothes sewn for her daughters, the many quilts she made over a lifetime, and for the all the meals she prepared. Her children and grandchildren have treasured memories of trips they have taken with her and quality time shared.
Aline was preceded in death by her husband J.B. Brewen; brother Ira Robinson; and sisters Melvi Shelton, Alma Leon, Eunice Criteser, Naomi Pogue, Lenora Arnold, and Estil Arnold.
She is survived by her brother Leroy Robinson, Park Hills, MO; sons, Rodger Brewen (and Shirley) of Boonville, MO; and Michael Brewen of Berwyn, PA; and daughters, Barbara Richerson (Mrs. Jim) of Alpine, TX; Teresa Halbersma (and Marion) of Ozark, MO; and Rhonda Sue Jolley (and John) of Cheyenne, WY. She is also survived by her six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and many friends and neighbors.
The Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville is in charge of services. Viewing is Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Davis Funeral Chapel and the service following the viewing. Doug Weekley will lead the celebration of life service.
