March 18, 1949 - March 8, 2014 PIEDMONT

Anthony "Tony" Horace Amos was born on March 18, 1949 in Pauls Valley, OK to Horace and Sally Amos. He passed peacefully from this life on March 8, 2014 at his residence in Piedmont.

As one of twelve children, Tony spent all of his childhood years in Maysville, OK. Tony married the love of his life, Kathy, in September of 1967. They had three blessings in boys: Clint, Mitch and Will.

Tony served his country admirably in the U.S. Army before starting his 40-year career at Nestle Purina. During those years, he formed many long-standing relationships with his colleagues and was known for his expertise all over the U.S. as a Food Safety Manager.

Tony had an extreme passion for the outdoors, and was a well-accomplished hunter and angler. However, his biggest passion was his grandchildren, and it showed in everything he would do or say. There simply was not a more caring, supportive grandfather in the world.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of almost 47 years; sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Sally; sisters, Nona and Eva.

Also a special thanks to Dr. Aleda Toma and her staff who treated Tony throughout his battle, and to Frontier Hospice for their compassionate caregiving in Tony's last days. Tony was a wonderful man and a loving husband and father who will be missed so very, very much.

We will honor Tony with a memorial service Friday, March 14, 2014, at Vondel L. Smith & Son, North Colonial Chapel.
